Community Cancer Fund, Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Gonzaga community came together for an unforgettable event this past February known as Paint the Kennel Pink. The annual Play4Kay game is more than just basketball; it’s a powerful display of strength, unity, and hope in the fight against cancer. Fans filled the McCarthey Athletic Center, dressed in pink, showing their support for those impacted by this disease, including Coach Lisa Fortier, who is courageously battling cancer herself.
As the Zags took the court, the energy in the Kennel was electric. But beyond the game, the real victory was in the overwhelming support for cancer patients and their families. Through the generosity of the Gonzaga community and our incredible partners, Paint the Kennel Pink helps raise awareness and critical funds for cancer care and research in the Inland Northwest.
Community Cancer Fund is honored to stand alongside Gonzaga Athletics, student-athletes, and fans to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing cancer. Thanks to events like this, we continue to provide essential resources such as financial assistance, lodging, transportation, and funding for cutting-edge research. Every ticket purchased, every pink shirt worn, and every voice cheering in the Kennel contributes to this vital cause.
But the fight doesn’t stop here. Cancer affects so many lives, and we remain committed to ensuring that patients in the Inland Northwest receive the best care possible. Whether through the Showcase, The Boulevard Race, or other Community Cancer Fund initiatives, we will continue to rally our community to make an impact.
To everyone who participated in Paint the Kennel Pink, thank you. Your support, generosity, and passion fuel our mission and bring us one step closer to a world without cancer. Let’s keep fighting, together.
