Hoops for Hope was another incredible reminder of what happens when our community rallies together around a great cause.
Inside the Kennel, Gonzaga took care of business on the court with an impressive 82–47 win over LMU. It was a dominant performance and a fun atmosphere from start to finish.
Even more meaningful was seeing Gonzaga and LMU players take the floor during warmups in I AM. Community Cancer Fund shirts. Their visible support helped shine a light on the thousands of local patients and families across our region who are impacted by cancer every day.
500 I AM. CCF shirts handed out
Our Huck Cancer team was back in action and helped give away 500 I AM. CCF t-shirts throughout the arena. The smiles, high-fives, and conversations reminded us why this night matters so much. Thank you to our t-shirt partner Idaho Central Credit Union.
Thank you to everyone who grabbed a shirt, shared the message, and continues to stand with Community Cancer Fund and our local cancer patients and their families.
Supporting Camp Goodtimes at YMCA Camp Reed
Another highlight from the evening was our annual commitment to help fund Camp Goodtimes at YMCA Camp Reed, a summer camp designed specifically for kids affected by cancer.
This program has been a foundational, endowed initiative of Community Cancer Fund for more than a decade. Camp Goodtimes is medically supported by pediatric and oncology physicians and nurses, and it is provided completely free for kids and families.
Camp experiences include:
- College team visits
- Tie-dye fun and creative activities
- Bass fishing day
- Classic summer camp adventures and friendships
Most importantly, it gives kids the chance to simply be kids again.
Thank You.
Hoops for Hope is about more than one basketball game. It is about teamwork, hope, generosity, and making life better for families facing cancer right here at home.
Thank you to Gonzaga, LMU, fans, volunteers, donors, and partners who continue to lift this mission forward. Because of you, more families will receive support, more kids will experience summer at Camp Goodtimes, and more patients will know they are not alone.
Here’s to another impactful Hoops for Hope, and to the continued fight against cancer across our community.
