On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Spokane’s streets were alive with determination and community spirit as 2,980 runners and walkers gathered for The Boulevard Race. This beloved Community Cancer Fund (CCF) event featured a scenic 4-mile course, offering participants the opportunity to challenge themselves while supporting local cancer patients and their families impacted by this disease.

A Memorable Race for a Meaningful Cause

The Boulevard Race is more than just a run—it’s a rallying cry for hope and action. Each stride taken on the 4-mile course directly contributed to CCF’s mission of fighting cancer at the local level, providing vital resources and support to patients and their families in the Inland Northwest.

Highlights of the Day

  • Community Turnout: Nearly 3,000 participants, from competitive runners to casual walkers, showed up to make this year’s race the biggest yet.
  • Scenic Course: The 4-mile route showcased Spokane’s University District charm, weaving through tree-lined streets and offering some new views of the city.
  • Heartfelt Tributes: Many racers wrote names on their bibs honoring loved ones affected by cancer, sharing stories and creating an uplifting atmosphere of solidarity.

Making a Lasting Impact

The Boulevard Race raised significant funds to support Community Cancer Fund’s programs, including:

  • Free lodging at The Davidson Family Hospitality Center for families traveling for treatment in North Idaho.
  • Life-changing experiences at Camp Goodtimes, a summer camp for children with cancer.
  • Support for pediatric cancer research and treatments.
  • Gas cards, medications, and other essential assistance for those in need.

Every step taken on September 22 helped ensure that local families facing cancer receive the care and support they deserve.
